CELEBRATING MOTHER"S DAY THE FILIPINO WAY

Mother's Day is an occasion that is celebrated in various parts of the world to express respect, honor, and love towards mothers. The day is an event to honor the contribution of mothers and acknowledge the efforts of maternal bonds and the role of mothers in our society. It is a day that makes people remember the importance and significance of mothers in their lives and is observed as a day to give special emphasis to motherly figures around the world.

In the Philippines, when it’s Mother's Day, we treat our mothers right by bringing her breakfast in bed, doing household chores, going out for either lunch or dinner, giving them a fresh bouquet of flowers, and spending time with her and the family to show how much we love and care about her.

My family celebrates Mother's Day by spending quality time together. We would go out and visit the cemetery to greet my lolas, and after that, we would go out to have lunch, and after that, we would go home with cake. Throughout the years, we spend quality time enjoying the day talking about random topics, eating out at different places, and giving her gifts, but even though we don’t give her gifts, she's already happy to spend time with us during this holiday.

I’m very grateful to have a mother who loves and cares about me. The mother who cared for me raised me into what I am today. The mother who was always there for me. I’m thankful for everything you’ve done. I'm thankful that you were always there for me my whole life, and I hope one day I’ll be able to repay you for everything you’ve done for me and my siblings. Thank you for being a kind and loving mother. Happy Mother's Day, po, and happy Mother's Day to all the moms around the globe!
